As a Leader

School Leadership

Picture
Teachers who are leaders see and respond to the needs of other teachers and students around them. They create opportunities for colleagues and students to learn. Every day, I work to lead and collaborate.Specifically, I am
  • a teacher leader for our Writing PLN at school that meets approximately twice a month.
  • on the school improvement team.
  • present digital integration tools and tips monthly during staff meetings
  • member of the technology committe for our district

Moderator #6thchat

Picture
#6thchat is a weekly chat held on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST. As moderator, my goal is to create learning spaces for teachers to share ideas, collaborate and discuss the application of ideas presented. Creating a framework that welcomes all and validates their thoughts is paramount to weekly success of any chat.

Resources for education are many, and diverse. Within the world of technology, finding the right tool to empower students to learn is a bit like mining for gold. As I discover useful tools, I house them on my website (click the button below) for educators to explore and use.

Think-Tech Thursdays

Think-Tech Thursday is a teacher as leader initiative where once a week, after school for only a half an hour, teachers are able to meet informally in a classroom and learn about a new tech tool or application, and they can discuss how to use the tool to raise awareness, collaborate, discover passions, innovate, and empower students in their learning.
